F208 Fregatte Niedersachsen

After 32 years on duty, the Federal German Ship »Niedersachsen« was decommissioned at the end of June 2015. For her last mission as a part of a NATO operation, I joined the ship and crew for three weeks crossing the Mediterranean Sea. While the ship was heading from Antalya to Wilhelmshaven, I learned about the procedures on board and the daily life of the crew of this warship. This photographic documentation provides an unbiased view into a marines life despite of the public dialogue surrounding military interventions of the Bundeswehr.
